Annuities used as come-on
If you receive a post card from the Annuity Service Insurance Center to discuss annuities, don't bother to call them. All they are doing is setting you up for a sales call by a local insurance broker, who paid $60 for the privilege of meeting you...

Thank you for posting this information about the Annuity Service Insurance Center.

I received a card from them and I thought that it was from a third party company that was representing my insurance company.

When I called the number and asked which company had hired them, they were very evasive and said they would have me contact their local representative. It became clear that this was some sort of sales pitch.

While it might not be an outright scam, I don't like the misleading technique.

The article in the SF Cronicle was very enlightening.
